Scope
The scope
of ESAI's market analysis and price forecasting is far-reaching.
Moreover, it is under-pinned by a unique empirical database
of oil information.
Geographic
Coverage
ESAI has
built and maintains a petroleum fundamentals database, which
provides monthly data starting in January 1978 and extending
through a 10-year forecast beyond the present. This database
includes actual or estimated data collected primarily from
empirical sources for over 150 countries. These countries
are aggregated into eight geographic
regions. ESAI uses this database in a series of proprietary
analytical methodologies to develop a forward-looking view
of the oil markets and oil prices by country, region and the
world.
Product
Category
ESAI's
analyses and forecasts of the oil markets are organized geographically
and by kind of petroleum. For example, ESAI analyzes and projects
Latin American gasoline demand, Mediterranean sour crude supply,
or Asian diesel prices. These analyses are built largely from
the ESAI petroleum fundamentals database, which assesses the
following products for each month and each country.
- Crude
Oil
- Naphtha
- Motor
Gasoline
- Jet
Fuel
- Kerosene
- Diesel
- Heating
Oil
- Residual
Fuel Oil
Fundamentals
ESAI analysts
are fundamentalists first. We believe careful analysis of
supply, demand and inventories can lead us to credible assessments
of the evolution of market dynamics, prices, international
trade, etc. These analyses are built largely from the ESAI
petroleum fundamentals database, which assesses the following
products for each month and each country:
- Crude Oil
- Crude Oil Production
- Refinery Throughput
- Refinery Output by Product
- Imports
- Inventories (absolute and days of demand)
- Refining Capacity
- Refinery Construction or Expansion
Forecast
Period
ESAI's
energy market analyses and price outlooks range from as short-term
as the next day in the case of the North American power market
to as long-term as the next 40 years in the case of Caspian
investment. In petroleum, ESAI routinely prepares forecasts
that cover the following time horizons:
- 2-weeks
- 6 months
- 2 years
- 5 years
- 10
years
