Notwithstanding the fact that popular uprisings seem to be moving from country to country in the MENA region (Tunisia, Egypt and Jordan), this does not mean there will be any appreciable disruption to oil supplies. The wealth and demographics of the monarchies in the Arab Gulf insulate them to some extent from these populist movements. Furthermore, whoever is in charge in Egypt will ensure the flow of oil through the Suez Canal and pipeline if only for the tariff payments.
