Reading Room

ESAI analysts are leaders in the global dialogue on energy issues.  They routinely publish articles and make presentations on cutting-edge, global issues in the areas of petroleum, risk management, natural gas, and electricity.  The following are provided with ESAI’s compliments.

  • The Spec Change Excerpt from International Fuel Specification Review, March 31, 2003
  • ESAI chosen to conduct Cost Benefit Analysis of a Single MISO-PJM-SPP Market. Read the announcement.
  • Ed Krapels presentation for Transmission Operation & Planning 2002, April 4, 2002
  • As expected, Russia made a concession to OPEC regarding production, agreeing to cut 150,000 b/d. As we alerted our clients on November 20, however, that concession is small and looks as if it will reap enormous benefits for Russia. Please read our November 20 Occasional memo, Russia May Wink But Not Blink.
  • Enron Update, October 31, 2001. ESAI continues to monitor and advise its clients on the changing situation with Enron. The advice that we gave clients in October is still applicable. At that time, we noted that if Enron's energy deal book was sound that they would be able to avoid bankruptcy. As the market has seen, there is now evidence that Enron's books were not sound, and the worst-case situation -- the "long-term capital" type of collapse we were concerned about -- has developed. Read our complete October analysis here.
